Library in West Africa

Summer 2006 the World Children's Project directors traveled to Niger, West Africa, and visited an elementary school in the village of Maorey. World Children’s Project directors brought a collection of French children's literature, 60 new chalkboards, chalk, pencils, and playground equipment to Niger as a donation for the only school in the village. The school principal and the elders of the village openly welcomed these donations and were very eager to speak with us about new opportunities to increase literacy in Niger.
